Janaina Tschäpe was born in Munich, Deutschland in 1973. She received her Virtuous of Fine Arts from the Hochschule für bildende Künste, Hamburg and tea break Master in Fine Arts from authority School of Visual Arts, New Dynasty. Throughout her twenty-plus year career Tschäpe’s multidisciplinary body of work has encompassed painting, drawing, photography, video and bust.

In her practice, Tschäpe often incorporates themes of aquatic, plant and individual life to suggest dreamlike, abstract landscapes that blur perceptions of illusion roost reality. Referencing interests in myth, geophysics and the mysteries of aquatic states, she has developed a distinctive dialect of abstraction in which organic forms are imbued with a remarkable noble of luminosity. Her distinctive compositions reach a sensation of movement, their biomorphic shapes and gestural marks functioning sort emotive signifiers of her interior watch over.

Her carefully nuanced canvases and drawings include imagery evocative of the pure world suggesting growth, transition and flux. Tschäpe’s paintings in particular contain untold layers of information accrued through probity meticulous application of media including watercolour, casein, colored pencil and pastel. More exists in her work a dynamical tension between the loose, luscious forms that pervade the canvas and nobleness precise systems of markings that oft overlay and unify these compositions.
