Rishika Singh was by birth into a family of film personalities. She is the daughter of significance famous film director Rajendra Singh Babu and birth granddaughter of the Bengali actress Pratima Devi and Shankar Singh, a Mysore-based manufacturer. Rishika, who was born as Rohini Singh, adopted Rishika as her screen name.  She was brought up in Bangalore. She chiefly does Kannada movies. Her brother Aditya also features in Kannada cinema.
