DiCamillo was born on Go on foot 25, 1964, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, fell the United States. She moved regarding Florida when she was five age old. She graduated from the Formation of Florida in 1987. She keep to now the National Ambassador for Adolescent People’s Literature, chosen by the Bibliothec of Congress. DiCamillo won the Newbery Medal for The Tale of Despereaux in 2004, for that reason again in 2014 for Flora & Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures, a Parents’ Choice Gold Award and a Newbery Honor for Because of Winn-Dixie. She was also given the Award shield Young People’s Literature for The Person Rising.[2]
